Replacement requirementsThe aggregate diameter of the replacement trees must add up to the diameter of the trees removed. DetailsThe removal of all trees with a trunk measuring 4 inches or greater either living or dead must be approved by the ARC staff prior to the start of the removal. ARC must have all approved trees marked on a construction site prior to the start of construction; and photographs of all trees so marked to be also on file. The diameter of trees removed without approval is to be measured at two feet from the ground or at stump level if less than two feet of trunk remains. GTA Security will assess the fines. In addition to the fine, the trees will need to be replaced in a location deemed to be acceptable to ARC if the removal is from a private lot. If trees have been removed from the Greenspace without authorization, the Greenspace committee will make the decision as to the location for the planting of the replacement trees. Trees replacement will have to be done by an ARC approved landscaper or tree replacement company at a time that insures the health of the new trees. In all cases, the species of replacement trees is to be approved by the Greenspace committee. The diameter of any replacement tree must have a minimum trunk size of 3 inches as measured 2 feet from the base of the trunk prior to the root ball. The aggregate diameter of the replacement trees must equal or exceed the diameter of the trees removed. Appeals will follow the established GTA process. Approved by the Board of Directors: January 28, 2006
